Sim and the Injured Bird

One sunny day, Sim opened his door with a big smile. "I can't wait to play outside!" he said, racing into the garden. As he ran, he spotted something on the ground. Oh no! A little bird lay there, hurt and silent. Sim knelt down and gently whispered, "Don't worry, little friend. I will help you!" The bird had soft, brown feathers and a tiny wing that looked sore. He felt sad for the bird, but knew he had to act quickly to help.

Sim carefully picked up the bird, cradling it in his hands. "Let's take you to my secret garden!" he said. He walked softly, feeling the warm sun on his back, as he placed the bird in a cozy nest made of leaves and flowers. Sim got some water and a few crumbs of bread. "Here you go, sweet bird. You can get better here!" He promised. The bird looked at him with big, thankful eyes and chirped softly, almost like a smile. Sim grinned from ear to ear, feeling happy to be a friend.

Sim spent the afternoon by the bird's side, watching as the gentle breeze rustled through the leaves above. He softly sang songs and told stories, believing that his words could help the bird feel safe. Every now and then, the bird chirped back, its little voice growing stronger with each note. 'You're doing so well, little one,' Sim encouraged, feeling hopeful that his new friend would soon be soaring through the skies again.

The next morning, Sim hurried back to the secret garden, his heart filled with excitement and a hint of worry. As he approached the nest, he was overjoyed to see the bird standing on its feet, hopping and flapping its wings with more strength. 'You look much better today!' Sim clapped his hands, delighted to see his friend healing. The bird chirped happily, as if saying, 'Thank you!', and Sim knew that his kindness was making a difference.

Finally, the day came when the bird was ready to fly again. Sim felt a mix of happiness and sadness as he watched it stretch its wings wide in the bright morning sun. 'Goodbye, little bird. Be safe!' he waved, knowing that he had done his best to help. With a joyful chirp, the bird soared into the sky, free and strong. Sim walked back inside, his heart full of joy, knowing he had made a friend for life.
