Once there was a farmer with an old dog named Sultan. Sultan was faithful and loved. One day, the farmer said, "Tomorrow, I will shoot Sultan! He is no good anymore!" His wife replied, "But he has served us well. Can we not let him live?"
Sultan heard everything from his sunny spot outside. He felt sad. He thought, "Tomorrow will be my last day!" That night, he went to his friend, the wolf, in the woods. "Please help me!" Sultan cried. "I don't want to die!"
The wolf listened carefully. "Don't worry, my friend! I have a plan! Tomorrow, your master will leave the baby in the shade. I will take the baby! You must chase me and bring the baby back!" Sultan wagged his tail happily. "Yes! Let’s do it!"
The next day, the farmer and his wife went to work in the fields. They laid their baby under the shade. Sultan laid down too, pretending to guard the baby. Suddenly, the wolf jumped out and grabbed the baby!
The farmer yelled, "What is happening?" Sultan jumped up and ran fast after the wolf. Sultan barked loudly, "Stop! That’s my baby!" The wolf dropped the baby. Sultan grabbed the baby and ran back to its parents!
The farmer was so happy to see his baby! He hugged Sultan and said, "You saved my child! You shall eat my bread, always!" His wife agreed, "Yes! Let’s give him a soft pillow!" Sultan felt so happy!
Now, Sultan had a warm bed and plenty to eat. He loved his family very much. Soon, the wolf visited him. "You are lucky, old friend! But remember, I might take one of your master’s sheep!" Sultan shook his head. "No! I will stay loyal to my master!"
One night, the wolf tried to take a sheep from the farm. But Sultan was ready! He told the farmer about the wolf's plan. The farmer caught the wolf and chased him away. The wolf was very angry! "You will pay for this, Sultan!" he shouted.
The next morning, the wolf sent a wild boar to challenge Sultan. Sultan faced him bravely. Only a three-legged cat came with him. The cat limped behind Sultan, but she raised her tail high in the air. "We are ready!" shouted Sultan.
When the wolf and boar saw the cat, they became scared. They thought the cat was holding a big sword! The wolf climbed a tree, and the wild boar ran away. The wolf was ashamed, and they all became friends in the end!
