Benny was an 8-year-old boy with black hair, round cheeks, and a big heart. One sunny day, he sat on the swings with his best friend, Max. "You know, sometimes I feel sad at school," Benny said softly. Max noticed the frown on Benny’s face. "Why do you feel sad, Benny?" he asked, genuinely concerned.
At school, Benny often felt left out when kids played games. He wanted to join, but he worried they wouldn’t want him around. One day during recess, Benny watched as the other kids laughed and played tag. "I wish I could play too," he whispered to himself.
Max, noticing Benny’s quietness, suggested, "Let’s make our own game! We can invite everyone to play with us!" Benny hesitated at first, but the spark of hope began to glow in his heart. "Okay, but what game should we play?" he asked, his eyes brightening up.
They thought for a moment, and Max shouted, "Let’s play Rainbow Relay! It will be fun!" They quickly grabbed some colorful scarves from the art room. Benny’s heart raced with excitement. This time, he felt ready to face the playground.
As they gathered other kids, Benny shouted, "Come join us for Rainbow Relay! It’s going to be awesome!" Slowly, the kids approached. Some were curious, while others smiled. Benny felt nervous but took a deep breath. "Ready, set, go!" he yelled, and off they went running.
The game had everyone running, laughing, and cheering! Benny’s heart filled with joy as he realized he was part of the fun. "You’re it, Benny!" shouted one girl, and Benny chased after her, giggling and feeling light as the wind.
After the game, the kids gathered in a circle. They all cheered for Benny, saying, "You did great!" Benny’s heart swelled with pride. He smiled broadly, finally feeling accepted and happy. "I can’t believe we played together!" he exclaimed, feeling lighter than air.
Max patted Benny on the back. "See? You just needed to share your ideas! We all wanted to play with you!" Benny nodded, tears of joy in his eyes. "I’m so glad I have friends like you!" he replied, feeling grateful for their support.
As the bell rang, Benny walked back to class with Max, hand in hand. He knew even if he felt sad sometimes, he could reach out and share his feelings. Because with friends, happiness was always within reach!
From that day on, Benny learned that being himself was the best way to find joy. And every time he felt sad, he remembered the fun they had playing Rainbow Relay together.
