Once upon a time, in a land far away, lived a young girl who wanted to play. She claimed, "I am a princess, it's true!" But how would she prove this to you?

The queen heard this with a curious ear, and decided to test the girl with good cheer. She took a pea, so small and round, and placed it under mattresses piled high, without a sound.

Twenty mattresses were stacked up tall, and the queen said, "Sleep here, dear girl, and please give your all! If you're a true princess, you will surely feel, that tiny pea hidden below with great zeal!"

The girl climbed up, so gentle and light. She snuggled in close, feeling cozy and right. But as the night wore on, she tossed here and there, for something beneath made her uncomfortable – quite rare!

In the morning, the queen asked with a grin, "How did you sleep, dear girl? Did you win?" The girl rubbed her eyes and said with a sigh, "I felt something odd, like a bump in the sky!"

The queen's eyes widened with joy and surprise. "It's true! You're a princess – oh, what a prize! For only a princess with a heart so true, could feel that small pea, known to but a few!"

The girl clapped her hands, with a smile so bright, she danced all around with pure delight. She was invited to stay in the castle so grand, with sparkly gowns and a soft, gentle hand.

The villagers cheered and sang a sweet song, about the young girl who proved them all wrong. She taught everyone that it’s not just a title, but kindness and sensitivity that makes one vital.

So remember this tale, of the princess so fair, true nobility comes from love and care. Whether stacked high or hidden away, it’s the heart that counts at the end of the day!
