The Flag Hunt

"Listen up, kids!" Mrs. White called, standing in front of the excited children. Her smile stretched wide as she waved a colorful map in the air. "Today is the big flag hunt! You must find a flag at each spot. And remember, pick up your trash!" The children nodded eagerly. They loved adventures just like this one!

Lucy and Austin high-fived each other. "Let's go to the lake first!" said Lucy, bouncing on her toes. They raced through the trees, sunlight filtering down like golden rain. When they reached the lake, a bright red flag fluttered in the breeze near the water's edge. "Look, a flag!" shouted Austin, pointing it out enthusiastically. "Let's go to the cave next!"

Meanwhile, Sarah and Jose of the blue team were walking to the waterfall. Sarah twirled around, giggling, "This is going to be so much fun!" Jose was determined, "Don't forget to keep an eye out for flags!" Just then, they spotted a sparkling blue flag waving at them from behind some rocks. "Look! A flag!" said Jose. "Let's go to the hill next!" They hurried along, excitement bubbling in their hearts.

As they climbed the hill, Sarah suddenly stopped, her eyes wide. "Oh no!" she cried. "My backpack is open!" Jose looked around, noticing small wrappers fluttering on the ground. They scattered like fallen autumn leaves. "We have to pick it up!" shouted Jose, rushing back. They both quickly gathered the trash, feeling proud to keep the forest clean.

The sun was setting, draping the forest in warm hues of orange and pink. Hours passed, and soon everyone returned to the meeting point under a big old oak tree. Mrs. White clapped her hands, calling for attention. "The yellow team found four flags! You win today's flag hunt!" she announced, beaming.

The yellow team cheered, jumping up and down with joy. Laughter filled the air, but Lucy noticed a sad look on Sarah and Jose's faces. "Here, take one of our flags!" said Lucy, her voice full of kindness. "We saw that you collected all your trash, and you couldn't finish!"
