Princess Nayó and the Ocean's Embrace

In the Kingdom of Dahomey, there was a princess named Nayó. Nayó loved to sit under a big baobá tree. She liked to read stories and listen to the birds sing. The sun shone bright, and the leaves danced in the wind. Everyone loved Nayó, for she was kind and funny.

One day, wicked men came to the kingdom. They took Nayó away from her tree! Nayó woke up in a strange place. It was dark, and she was on a spooky ship. The waves crashed and the wind howled. Nayó felt scared and alone, but she knew she had to be brave.

Nayó looked at the dark sea around her. Then she saw a glowing light, guiding her to the moon. With tears in her eyes, she called out, 'Oh, Oshalá, please help me!' Just then, something magical happened. Nayó started to float up high in the air!

A whirlwind appeared, and it swirled around Nayó. She felt a warm light surrounding her. In an instant, she turned into a beautiful mermaid! Nayó dove into the sparkling ocean, and she danced with the waves. The water felt cool and comforting against her skin.

To this day, the people tell the tale of Nayó, the mermaid. They say the wicked men's ships were lost at sea, trying to chase the light of the moon. And whenever the waves crash, it is Nayó singing her song of freedom, reminding everyone to be brave and kind.
