Daeng Learns to Be Calm

One sunny day, Daeng, a 5-year-old boy with bright eyes, shouted, "Stop running so fast!" His friends were playing tag, and Daeng felt left behind. "Come back, I’m not done!" He didn’t want to play anymore and stomped his feet. Sometimes, Daeng felt angry when things didn’t go his way, like when his sister giggled at a silly joke or when Mummy said no to sweets.

Later, Daeng sat on the swing, still frowning. His friend Lily walked over and said, "You can swing with us!" Daeng thought about it. He took a deep breath and smiled, saying, "Okay! Let’s play!" He learned that it’s better to be calm and happy than to be mad. In the end, everyone played together, laughing and having fun.

As the sun shone brightly, Daeng and his friends decided to play hide and seek. Daeng counted, "One, two, three!" and when he opened his eyes, he saw everyone hiding behind trees and bushes. It was Daeng's turn to find them, and he felt a giggle bubbling inside him. This time, instead of feeling upset, he felt excited while searching for his friends.

Lily peeked from behind a big tree and giggled, "You found me, Daeng!" Daeng laughed, and they both skipped over to find the others. As they played, Daeng realized that playing with friends made him feel happy and warm inside. He was learning that being calm and playing nicely made the day brighter for everyone.

When it was time to go home, Daeng waved goodbye to his friends. He felt proud of himself and said, "I had so much fun today!" Mummy gave him a hug and said, "I’m proud of you, Daeng." Daeng knew he could play, laugh, and be happy with his friends anytime he stayed calm.
