Peter Rabbit was a little rabbit, full of fun and cheer. He loved to hop and play, but always had to steer clear of Mr. McGregor's garden, where carrots grew so bright. His mother warned him daily, "Stay away from that sight!"
One sunny day, Peter felt brave and bold. He said, "I'll take a peek—there's no reason to scold!" With a twitch of his nose and a skip in his hop, he dashed toward the garden, excited and ready to plop!
The garden was big, with plants all around. Peter's eyes opened wide; oh, what joy he found! Carrots and cabbages, peas in a row, he couldn't resist grabbing a bite or two, oh no!
He nibbled and chewed, lost in delicious taste, when suddenly, behind him, there was no time to waste! Mr. McGregor was coming! Peter's heart raced: he knew he was caught, it was time to make haste!
With a hop and a jump, he dashed through the green, dodging the farmer, he was quick and keen. His little heart pounded as he leapt over the fence—"Oh, I should have listened! Was this all just pretense?"
He ran and he ran, with a twitch of his tail, escaping the garden, he was losing the trail. His mother would scold him for breaking her rule. He promised himself to never again be a fool.
Finally home, he hid in his bed, thinking of the garden and the trouble he bred. His mother came in and found him there snug, "Oh, Peter! Have you learned? Don't pull at the rug!"
"I love you, dear rabbit, and worry for you. The world can be fun, but it can be a zoo!" Peter nodded and smiled, feeling warmth in his heart. He knew with his mother, they’d never be apart.
From that day on, he still loved to explore, but he listened more closely before opening the door. Adventures await, but always be wise—there’s magic in listening, that’s the greatest prize!
And so ends the tale of our brave little friend, who learned that true love does not simply depend on adventures alone, but also on care. For Peter Rabbit’s journey began anew, but now with his mom’s wisdom, he knew what to do.
