Ricky the Rabbit was very clever. One sunny morning, he hopped to his friend Sally the Squirrel's tree. "Sally, I have a riddle!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Sally jumped down, her fluffy tail twitching, eager to hear what he had to say.
"What has roots that nobody sees, is taller than trees, up, up, up it goes, and yet never grows?" Ricky asked with a grin. Sally thought hard, scratching her head with her tiny paw. After a moment, she gasped, "An mountain!" Ricky clapped his paws, his laughter ringing through the forest.
"Good job, Sally! Now, let's find more riddles to solve!" They decided to travel to the dark cave nearby. As they approached the cave, they noticed strange sounds echoing within, like whispers in the wind. "Do you think anyone is inside?" asked Sally, shivering with excitement and a bit of fear.
Inside the cave, they met Benny the Bat, who was hanging upside down, looking sleepy. "Hey there!" he yawned. "What brings you here?" Ricky replied, “We’re searching for more riddles! Do you have one for us?” Benny grinned, revealing his shiny teeth, and began to think.
"Yes! Here it is: I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with the wind. What am I?" Ricky and Sally exchanged puzzled looks, their brows furrowed in concentration. They both pondered silently for a while.
After a minute, Sally exclaimed, "An echo!" Benny cheered, flapping his wings excitedly. "You two are great at riddles! Want to hear another one?" Ricky nodded eagerly, and so they continued their riddle quest deeper into the cave.
Next, they stumbled upon Freddy the Fox, who was lounging on a rock. "What are you two up to today?" he asked. "We’re on a riddle hunt!" Ricky replied. Freddy's ears perked up. "A riddle? Sure! What has keys but can't open locks?"
Sally chuckled and said, "A piano!" Freddy stood up, impressed. "You two really know your stuff! Let’s make this a daily game!" Ricky and Sally agreed, their hearts filled with joy at all the fun they were having together.
As they left the cave, Ricky said, “Let’s meet again tomorrow! The woods are full of treasures and riddles waiting to be found!” Sally smiled brightly, her eyes shining with the thrill of adventure. They parted ways, ready for another riddle-filled day to come.
