Eddie and Bart were best friends in year one. They loved playing footy together every day after school. One sunny afternoon, they decided to explore the bush near their school with their footy in tow.

As they walked into the bush, they saw tall trees and beautiful flowers. "Look at that big tree, Bart!" said Eddie. They both kicked the footy around the trees, laughing and having fun as they played.

Suddenly, they heard a rustling sound. "What was that?" Bart whispered. They tiptoed quietly and peeked behind a bush to find a fluffy little kangaroo! It was hiding and looking at them curiously.

Eddie and Bart stood very still, amazed by the kangaroo. They gently tossed the footy in front of it, and the kangaroo hopped closer, sniffing the ball. They giggled as the kangaroo playfully bounced away with their footy!

"Hey! That's our footy!" cried Eddie. They chased the kangaroo deeper into the bush. They finally caught up and found it bouncing the ball back to them. They laughed and played together, making a new friend in the bush.
