Cock and the Sly Fox

Once upon a time, in a bright, green meadow, there lived a brave cock named Charlie. Charlie had shiny feathers that gleamed in the sunlight. He lived with his loving family of hens in a cozy little coop nestled beneath a giant oak tree. Every morning, Charlie would proudly crow, waking up the farm with his cheerful voice. His family adored him, and he worked hard to keep them safe.

One sunny day, a sly fox named Felix slinked into the meadow, his eyes glinting with mischief. He crept quietly, hoping to catch one of the unsuspecting hens for lunch. Felix thought he was very clever and whispered to himself, 'Those silly birds won't see me coming!' But Charlie was perched high atop the fence, watching the fox closely, determined to protect his family.

Charlie knew he had to think fast to save his loved ones from Felix. So, he hatched a clever plan. He flapped his wings and started to make a loud clucking noise, drawing the attention of the hens. With a brave heart, Charlie ran towards Felix, pretending to be scared. The sly fox thought this was an easy catch, and he followed Charlie as he darted away from the coop.

As the fox chased him, Charlie led him in circles around the meadow, skillfully avoiding his grasp. The hens watched with wide eyes, knowing Charlie was counting on them. With one final burst of speed, Charlie flew up onto a high branch of the oak tree, leaving Felix below looking confused and frustrated. 'You will never catch me now, sly fox!' Charlie called out, his voice ringing through the air.

Felix finally gave up, realizing he had been outsmarted by the brave cock. With his tail between his legs, he scampered off into the bushes, never to be seen again. Charlie's family cheered for him, relieved and grateful that he had saved them. They all gathered around, praising his bravery, and from that day on, Charlie was known as the hero of the meadow.
