It was a warm summer day, and Alice sat beside her sister, bored out of her mind. "Why do you always read, sister?" Alice asked. "You should come play with me!" Just then, a little White Rabbit with pink eyes dashed by, exclaiming, "Oh dear! I'm late!" This made Alice very curious. Without thinking, she jumped up and followed the rabbit.
The Rabbit pulled out a pocket watch and frowned at it, then suddenly disappeared down a rabbit hole. Alice peered down in wonder and thought, "I must discover why he was in such a hurry!" She couldn't help herself and jumped in after him. As she fell down the hole, she wondered, "When will I ever reach the bottom of this dreadful hole?"
Finally, Alice landed softly in a long, narrow hallway filled with doors of all sizes. On a three-legged table, she spotted a tiny gold key and a mysterious green bottle labeled "DRINK ME." "This key must open one of these doors!" Alice exclaimed excitedly. But when she tried a door, it was locked!
Frustrated, Alice cried, "I’m too big to fit through that tiny door!" Suddenly, she got an idea! "Maybe the potion in that bottle will help me shrink down," she thought. She quickly drank from the bottle and suddenly felt tingly all over. Before she knew it, Alice was no bigger than a doll!
With a quick motion, Alice unlocked the tiny door and scurried through. "What a splendid garden!" she gasped, feeling amazed. "I'm as small as the insects crawling on the flowers!" However, soon her excitement faded; she longed to be big again. "I want to be large once more!" she cried pitifully.
Just then, the White Rabbit rushed by again and mistook her for his maid. "Go fetch my gloves and fan from my cottage at once!" he ordered. Alice, puzzled but hopeful, thought, "Perhaps I can find something to help me grow!" So she dashed off to the Rabbit's cottage, her heart pounding with anticipation.
At the Rabbit's cottage, she found a delicious-looking chocolate cake on the table with a note beside it that read "EAT ME." "I’m so hungry!" Alice said, taking a big bite. Suddenly, she felt very strange, and before she knew it, she grew larger than the house!
"Get out of my way!" shouted the White Rabbit in a panic. Alice tried to move but found herself stuck, and soon, she began to shrink again. "Oh no! I’ll never get the right size!" she lamented, feeling utterly hopeless as she searched for help. Soon, she spotted a green caterpillar dressed in a pink jacket.
The caterpillar puffed bubbles from his pipe and said, "One side makes you big, the other side makes you small." Confused, Alice asked, "One side of what?" The caterpillar replied, "The mushroom, silly!" Eagerly, she nibbled from the mushroom, and to her relief, she started to grow!
“How lovely!” Alice said, feeling the thrill of adventure again. She wandered along a path and arrived at a mad tea party. The Mad Hatter and the March Hare welcomed her. “There’s no room for you!” shouted the Hatter. “You can stay if you answer our riddle!” Alice loved riddles and joined the fun, but soon grew frustrated. "You keep asking questions!" she replied, feeling exasperated. The party continued chaotically, with laughter and giggles echoing in the air.
