Once there was a gingerbread man. He was baked in a warm kitchen. With frosting and candy, he looked so bright! Then he jumped up and started to run!

"Run, run, as fast as you can! You can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!" he sang as he dashed out the door, feeling so free!

A little girl saw him and shouted with glee. "Stop, come back! I want to play!" But he just giggled and ran away.

Then came the baker with a rolling pin. "You delicious treat, you can't escape me!" But the gingerbread man laughed and ran by a tree.

Next, a dog barked, "Woof, woof! I want a bite!" The gingerbread man spun around and took off in flight!

He rushed through the meadows, fast as the wind. "Catch me if you can! I'm a sprightly friend!"

A cow mooed, “Hey! That looks so sweet!” But he dashed right past her, quick on his feet.

Across the river, a clever fox waited. He said, "Jump on my back! You will be elated!"

But the Gingerbread Man was smart and quick. “No, thank you, Mr. Fox! I’m super slick!" He swirled and twirled, keeping his pace.

And so he ran, through fields and trees, laughing, singing, dancing with ease. He knew no one could ever catch him, oh please!
