Lane Paddison was excited. He stood in his room, surrounded by hockey sticks and posters of the Manhattanville hockey team. "I can't wait to show everyone what I can do, Dad!" he exclaimed. His father smiled, packing their bags for the trip to New York. Meanwhile, Lane's sister Jessa and Emma were rushing around, trying to pack their cheerleading outfits. "Don't forget my pom-poms!" yelled Jessa. Emma frowned, rummaging through her backpack. "I can't find my favorite hat!"
The next day, they all hurried to the airport. But when they reached security, a big problem arose. "Excuse me, miss, but you can’t take this on the plane," said the security officer, holding up Emma's pocket knife. Emma's eyes widened in shock. "Oh no! I forgot it was in there!" They all watched in dismay as the clock ticked away. They missed their flight, but Lane's mom, Trina, reassured them, "Don't worry! We'll fly out tomorrow!" The next day they took off with excitement brewing in the air. Lane couldn't wait to score the winning goal!
This was going to be their adventure, filled with laughter and cheers, as they traveled together as a family, savoring these special moments. On the ride to the rink, Lane could already hear the crowd roaring in the stands, and he knew they’d be there, cheering him on.
