In a quaint village bright and fair, lived a speedy hare with fluffy hair. He boasted loud for all to hear, 'I am the fastest, never fear!' One sunny day, a tortoise came by, slow and steady, with a charming sigh. The hare laughed loud and made a bet, 'Race me, dear tortoise, you won’t regret!'.
The race began with a loud cheer, the hare sprinted fast and disappeared! With a wink and a grin, he dashed away, leaving the tortoise to plod and sway. But soon the hare, feeling quite grand, saw a shady tree, where he decided to stand. 'I’ll take a nap, just for a while, I’ll win this race with my fastest style.'
While the hare dreamed sweet, the tortoise moved, with steady legs and a heart that proved. He kept on going, never in doubt, ‘I will not stop, I will not shout!’ The sun moved high, the day wore on, the tortoise kept walking, still not gone. Step by step, he made his way, slow and steady, come what may.
The hare, in his dream, was hopping around, but soon the sunlight made a bright sound. He woke up fast, full of dismay; the tortoise was near! 'Oh no! Not today!' He dashed to the track, his heart racing loud, but the tortoise was close; he could see the crowd! With every step, the tortoise pressed on, his spirit was strong, his doubt was gone.
He saw the finish line coming in sight, his heart beat fast, what a wonderful sight! With a smile so bright, he crossed the line first, the crowd erupted, oh, how they burst! The hare arrived with a puzzled look, 'How could you win? It’s all in the book! A race is a race, I thought I would soar, but you ran with patience, to settle the score.'
The tortoise smiled and spoke with grace, 'Slow and steady wins your pace. It’s not about quickness or boasting aloud, but keeping your focus and making us proud.' The hare nodded slow, his lesson was clear, 'I’ve learned today to keep friends near. It’s not just speed that brings us success, but being determined through every mess.'
The village rejoiced with laughter and cheer, as the tortoise and hare became quite dear. They played together, they ran side by side, a bond was formed, love filled with pride. The tortoise taught patience, the hare learned to care, as they played and raced without any compare.
Now every child knows this tale too well, of the tortoise and hare, their friendship to tell. In their hearts, they remember this day, that slow and steady will find its way. So boast if you must, but heed this advice, determination and friendship are worth any price!
So when you race, remember this rhyme, it’s not just about winning, it’s about your time. Be patient like tortoise, and kind yet bright, for in every challenge, you’ll find your own light. With steady steps, through laughter and cheer, you’ll find that true victory is being sincere.
