Once upon a time, there was a little red hen. She lived on a sunny farm with her friends: a lazy cat, a sleepy dog, and a slow pig. The hen loved to work hard and try new things. One day, she found some seeds in the ground. She thought these seeds could grow into something delicious!
The little red hen took the seeds to her friends and said, 'Who will help me plant these seeds?' The cat laid in the sun and said, 'Not I!' The dog yawned and said, 'Not I!' The pig rolled over and said, 'Not I!' So, the little red hen planted the seeds all by herself.
The sun shone bright, and the seeds began to grow. The little red hen watered them every day. Soon, tall green plants sprouted in the field. But when it was time to harvest the wheat, she asked her friends again, 'Who will help me harvest the wheat?' But again, the cat, dog, and pig said, 'Not I!'
So the little red hen harvested the wheat by herself. She was tired but happy. She then said, 'Now I will make some bread! Who will help me bake the bread?' The lazy cat said, 'Not I!' The sleepy dog said, 'Not I!' The slow pig said, 'Not I!' Again, the hen was left to do the work alone.
The little red hen ground the wheat into flour. She mixed the flour, water, and yeast, making a big, squishy dough. She shaped the dough into a loaf and put it in the oven to bake. The smell of fresh bread filled the air, making her friends' noses twitch!
When the bread was finally done, the little red hen took it out of the oven. It was golden and warm, and she couldn't wait to eat it. She said to her friends, 'Who will help me eat this delicious bread?' This time, the cat, dog, and pig jumped up and squealed, 'I will! I will!','
The little red hen shook her head and said, 'No, I did all the work. I will eat the bread myself.' And so she did! She took a big, delicious bite and smiled with joy. Her friends watched, feeling sad and left out.
After she finished the whole loaf, the little red hen said, 'Next time you see seeds, remember teamwork is important! If we work together, we can all enjoy yummy bread!' The cat, dog, and pig felt sorry and nodded, promising to help next time.
From then on, the little red hen asked for help from her friends whenever she had new ideas. She taught them that working together is fun, and everyone can have a share. They all learned the value of teamwork and made the tastiest bread together!
