Lily was a cheerful girl, but she often forgot to be polite. She would shout at her parents and never said 'thank you.' Her family felt sad and confused. They loved Lily very much, and they wanted her to be happy.
One sunny day, Lily went to the park with her family. They brought a picnic basket full of delicious food. But when her little brother spilled juice on her shirt, Lily yelled, "Why did you do that? You are so clumsy!" Her brother looked hurt, and their parents frowned.
At that moment, a wise old lady sitting on a bench spoke to Lily. "Dear, being rude doesn't make things better. Your brother didn't mean to spill the juice. Try saying 'it's okay,' instead!" Lily thought about the old lady's words. She felt a little ashamed of how she acted.
When they returned home, Lily decided to apologize to her brother. "I'm sorry for yelling at you earlier. Let's clean it up together!" Her brother smiled, and they shared a big hug. Lily realized that saying sorry felt good.
From that day on, Lily practiced being polite. She said 'please' and 'thank you,' and smiled more at her family. Everyone felt happier, and Lily learned that kindness could make her home warm and loving.
