Once there was a princess named Lily, so bright and so proud. She loved her golden ball, shining and loud. One day, it slipped from her hand, oh no! It fell in a pond where the green frogs go.
Lily looked sad, her eyes filled with tears. She called for her friends, but they just brought her fears. Then, from the green reeds, came a frog with a grin, "I can get your ball back, just let me in!"
The frog said, "Dear princess, here’s what I seek. Be my friend, and your ball I will sneak. I’ll jump in the water, and fetch it with care, But you must promise to always be fair!"
Lily huffed and she puffed, "No way, no how! A frog is too slimy, I can’t make that vow!" She turned her back and wiped away her tears. The frog just smiled, for he had no fears.
With a great hop, the frog leaped into the pond, He swam through the water, oh, he was so fond. Then up from the depths, he returned with a splash, Holding the golden ball, shining with a flash.
Lily's eyes widened, her heart filled with glee, She ran to the frog and yelled, "Oh, thank you, dear me!" But when she looked closely, what did she see? The frog's face began to change, oh, could it be?
Before her stood a prince, handsome and fine. "Thank you, dear princess, for making me shine! I was cursed by a witch, turned into a frog, But you kept your promise, and now I'm a cog!"
Lily was shocked, she had made a new friend. The prince smiled kindly, their joys now would blend. They laughed and they played, on the shore of the lake, Together they danced—a magical break.
So remember, dear ones, a promise is gold. It shines brighter than jewels, it’s worth more than bold. Look past what you see and cherish what's true, For behind every frog, there may be a prince, too!
With hearts full of joy, they shared all their dreams, Together in friendship, they made the best teams. The pond glistened bright, and their laughter rang clear. The tale of the princess and the frog we hold dear.
