Sehar was a cheerful six-year-old girl who loved to play. One sunny afternoon, she was at the park with her friends Umesh and Ashwati, and her cousin Abeer. They were building a big sandcastle. Abeer asked, “Can I help?” But Sehar frowned and said, “You’ll ruin it!” Abeer walked away, feeling sad.
Later, Sehar was playing with her two dogs, Sky and Sasha. Sky accidentally knocked over her toys. “Bad dog!” Sehar yelled. Sky lowered his ears and hid behind Sasha. Ashwati said gently, “Sehar, words can hurt. Let’s try speaking with kindness.” Sehar thought about that. She ran to Abeer and said, “I’m sorry for being rude. Can you help me with the sandcastle?” Abeer smiled. At home, Sehar hugged Sky, saying, “I’m sorry, Sky. You’re the best dog ever!” They were all happy.
The next day at school, Sehar's teacher, Mrs. Kumar, talked about the power of words. She said, 'Words can be like sunshine or rain. They can help things grow, or they can make them sad.' Sehar listened carefully. She remembered how Abeer and Sky felt when she wasn't kind. She decided she wanted her words to be like sunshine.
During lunch, Sehar saw her classmate, Ravi, sitting alone. She sat next to him and said, 'I like the way you drew the rainbow in art class!' Ravi's face lit up with a big smile. 'Thanks, Sehar!' he said, feeling happy inside. Sehar realized her kind words made a difference.
That evening, Sehar's mom noticed how cheerful Sehar was. 'You seem very happy today, Sehar,' she said. Sehar grinned and replied, 'I learned that kind words are like magic. They make people smile and feel good!' Her mom gave her a big hug, proud of the kind and thoughtful girl Sehar was becoming.
