Samar looked out the window and saw the rain falling down. She said, "It’s raining! Now I can’t play outside with my friends. I hate it!" The world outside was gray and wet, and she felt a bit sad. Yet, her mother smiled and suggested something fun.
"Why don’t you do your homework or try a puzzle, like we did when we were young?" her mother said. Samar sighed, thinking puzzles weren't as fun as running outside. She wanted to run and jump, not sit and think!
"It’s OK, Mum! I’ll just play some computer games or watch cartoons instead!" she said with a grin. But her mother shook her head, "Samar, I think you spend too much time on that tablet!" Samar frowned and replied, "I don’t believe it! Now there’s no Wi-Fi! What am I going to do?"
"Why don’t you practice playing the piano?" her mother suggested. Samar groaned, "OK, but I hate playing the piano!" Still, she walked to the piano, her fingers ready to play, not wanting to let the rainy day ruin her day.
With her fingers on the keys, she started to play a happy tune. The raindrops danced like music on the ground. She felt better as the notes filled the air, and soon her frown turned upside down! Music made her heart sing, and now she felt free!
