Once upon a time, there was a sweet little girl named Little Red Riding Hood. Her favorite gift was a beautiful red riding hood made by her grandmother, and she wore it everywhere she went. One sunny day, her mother said, "Little Red, please take this basket of food to your grandmother in the woods. Remember, stay on the path and don’t talk to strangers!" Little Red Riding Hood nodded with a smile, feeling excited to see her grandmother.
As she skipped through the forest, holding her basket tight, she came across a sly wolf. “Hello, little girl, where are you going?” he asked with a grin. Forgetting her mother's warning, she replied, “I’m going to my grandmother’s house to bring her some treats!” The wolf's eyes gleamed with mischief as he thought, 'I’ll get there first!' He said, “Why not pick some pretty flowers for her?” Little Red Riding Hood loved the idea, so she wandered off the path to gather flowers, while the wolf dashed ahead.
Meanwhile, the wolf, swift and cunning, arrived at the grandmother’s cottage. He knocked on the door, his voice sweetly mimicking Little Red Riding Hood’s. 'Grandmother, it’s me, Little Red, come to see you with a basket of treats!' The kind grandmother, thinking it was her granddaughter, called out, 'Come in, dear!' The wolf slipped inside, and with a quick leap, locked the grandmother in a cupboard and put on her nightcap, chuckling at his own cleverness.
Not long after, Little Red Riding Hood arrived, her arms full of beautiful flowers. She knocked gently on the door, and hearing a strange yet familiar voice, she stepped inside. 'Grandmother, what big ears you have!' she exclaimed, noticing the wolf under the covers. 'The better to hear you with, my dear,' the wolf replied slyly. Little Red Riding Hood’s curiosity grew as she continued, 'What big eyes you have!' 'All the better to see you with!' came the reply, but Little Red suddenly remembered her mother’s warning and realized something was terribly wrong.
Just as the wolf was about to pounce, the village woodcutter, who had been nearby, burst through the door, axe in hand! The wolf, startled and frightened, leapt through the window and ran far into the forest, never to be seen again. Grateful and relieved, Little Red Riding Hood hugged her grandmother tightly as they thanked the brave woodcutter. From that day on, she always remembered to listen to her mother’s advice, knowing that adventure could be found even in the smallest of details when traveling through the woods.
