Ella the elephant was very big and fat, with a round belly and a long trunk. She lived in a jungle with tall, green trees. One sunny day, Ella called out to her best friend, Gerry the giraffe, 'Hey Gerry, come and play! Can you reach the juicy leaves at the top of the tree?' Gerry smiled, his long neck stretching high, and replied, 'Of course I can, Ella! Watch this!' He reached up on his tiptoes and grabbed the leaves with his mouth, munching them happily.
After Gerry ate the tasty leaves, he said, 'Ella, can you help me with something? There's a heavy rock in my way!' Ella used her strong trunk and pushed the rock aside. 'You're big and strong!' said Gerry, grinning. 'And you are tall and thin!' replied Ella, giggling. The two friends laughed and together they found that being different made them the best team ever!
Ella and Gerry decided to play hide and seek. Gerry counted to ten while Ella searched for the perfect hiding spot. She found a big, leafy bush and tucked herself behind it. Gerry peeked around, looking high and low. Finally, he spotted Ella's round belly peeking out from the leaves and shouted, 'Found you, Ella!' They both giggled and decided it was time for Ella to have a turn counting.
As Ella counted, Gerry tried to find a place where he could blend in. He saw a tall tree and stood beside it, his long neck reaching up to the branches. Ella opened her eyes and looked around for her tall friend. 'Gerry, your neck is too tall! I see you!' she called out with a laugh. Gerry grinned, happy to be found so quickly.
Soon, the sun began to set, painting the sky with orange and pink. 'It's time to go home,' said Gerry, tilting his long neck towards the path. Ella nodded, her big ears flapping happily. 'I had so much fun today!' she said, as they walked home side by side. They both knew that even though they were different, they made the perfect team. And with that, they headed back to their jungle home, ready for another day of fun and adventure.
